Description: Andre de Villers' sturdy utility folders are a pleasure to own, to hold, and - most importantly - to use.
The blade of this Pathfinder was formed from 19C27 stainless steel and was polished to a satin finish. 19C27, which is in the same family as 12C27, is one of those rare steels that has exceptional edge holding and can be easily stropped from sort-of-dull to scary-sharp. The blade has smooth action and is perfectly centered. It features a fascinating grind, Andre's own "nightmare" style which is both highly decorative and tremendously useful. The front section of the blade is perfectly designed for a swift and effective puncture or thrust, whereas the primary grind takes a keen, fine edge. A flipper opening mechanism means the blade is always moments away from ready-to-use.
The scales are formed from durable black G10. G10 is a high-tech material that is not electrically conductive and won't shrink or move, even in the most unforgiving environments. The textured surface means it is unlikely to slip in your hands, even if you're working in the wet! The jimped and anodized titanium liners are revealed as flashes of purple behind three circular cutouts, as well as on the handle's edges. The absence of a backbar allows for easy cleaning and lighter construction. The G10 scales are sculpted around the lanyard hole, complimenting the pierced flipper toggle nicely. The pocket clip is set for tip up carry. Exceptional work throughout.
