Description: Andre de Villiers' sturdy utility folders are a pleasure to use. The blade is formed from 19C27 stainless steel and has been hand-polished to a flawless satin finish. 19C27, which is in the same family as 12C27, is one of those rare steels that has exceptional edge holding and can be easily stropped from sort-of-dull to scary-sharp. The blade has smooth action and is perfectly centered. It features a "nightmare grind" which is both fascinating to look at and tremendously useful. The front section of the blade is designed for a puncturing, thrust, whereas the primary grind assures a keen, fine edge.
The solid titanium frame keeps the knife light. The bead blasted finish means it is unlikely to slip, even if you're working with wet hands! A damascus pivot adds just the right amount of dress. The titanium pocket clip keep the knife close at hand. Exceptional work throughout!
