Description: Alan Warren's Arkansas Toothpick is a contemporary blade reminiscent of classic Americana. This beautifully crafted collector's piece respects the traditional uses of the style - it is balanced and weighted for throwing and has a blade length and guard style well suited for hand-to-hand combat.
Alan has ingeniously refashioned the leaf spring from a 1972 Ford F150 into just over 12 inches of blade. The carbon steel used ensures this Arkansas Toothpick can take and hold a keen edge so you could, theoretically, shave with it - just like a cowboy of the late 18th century!
The hilt is fashioned from fine-grained African blackwood. The brass oval guard features decorative blackened fileworked grooves where it meets the wood. These same evenly spaced grooves adorn the pommel, which ends in a smooth blunted point.
The sheath is made by Alan from dark brown leather that contrasts well with the blackwood. Brass studs on the sheath match fittings on the hilt and the Texas Longhorn concho is reminiscent of the dangerous men who would carry these blades, crossing the Arkansas river into Texas. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
