Description: Journeyman Smith Tommy Gann makes an exceptional Bowie. The blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel. A hand rubbed satin finish creates an elegant, heirloom quality. Tommy drew elements from Japanese swords in creating the blade. A long "flat" creates from the blade ridge travels horizontal to the spine and creates a shape known as shinogi-ji in Japanese swords. Tommy has also created a sterling silver blade guard (called a habaki on Japanese swords). The resulting mixture of East and West is immediately captivating.
The guard and ferrule are both forged from Tommy's own Damascus. The handle is nicely carved and sits comfortably in the hand. Accompanied by hand tooled, hand stitched leather belt sheath. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
