Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American maker.
The drop point blade was hollow ground from 12C27 stainless steel and will hold an exceptional, easy to maintain edge. By mirror polishing the flats and giving the grinds a hand rubbed satin finish, Andre accentuates the dramatic grinds. The blade has silky-smooth action and is perfectly centered between titanium liners.
The scales are formed from 416 stainless steel and have been meticulously hand engraved in floral scroll. Exhibition grade gold lip mother of pearl inlays have a full spectrum flash and a shimmering underlying texture. The inlay is meticulously performed in a very complex pattern. The scales sit on anodized and fileworked titanium liners. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
