Description: Matt Diskin is an innovator and frequently works just outside the box. This is one such folder. When open, it is nearly unbelievable that the large blade fits inside the handle!
Matt forged the san mai blade using a complex mosaic Damascus radial pattern sandwiched around a thin 15N20 carbon steel core. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action. It is easily opened using the 14k gold terraced thumb stud.
Exhibition grade mother of pearl scales are dovetailed to mosaic Damascus bolsters for a perfect fit. 15N20 carbon steel liners have ben fileworked and support the frame. Matching Damascus backbar. The pocket clip was hand forged from Matt's own mokume gane -- Pure silver and nickel were forged together into damascene layers for a particularly dramatic effect. Exceptional work throughout!
