Description: Damascus and Impala Hunter was made by Washington knifemaker Webb Hammond back in the winter of 2007. It has been held in a private collection for all these years. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Hammond could have made it yesterday.
The bold W's pattern damascus blade was forged to shape from Hammond's own damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. A differential heat treatment ensures a keen, long lasting edge with a strong, supportive spine. The drop point blade is a perfect skinner or general purpose utility knife.
The handle combines African impala horn with ancient walrus bone. Though Webb has smoothed the horn, the engaging natural texture and ridges are intact intact. These provide a perfect grip in the hand. The front 'bolster' has the natural speckled texture of the ancient walrus bone. The pommel is made from a polished section of impala horn.
Exceptional work throughout!
