Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless quality to them that stems from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials.
The blade of this trailing point hunter was forged from a truck leaf spring. Back in the day, leaf springs were made from L6 -- a steel that combines tremendous edge holding with "springy" flexibility. The carbon steel blade was satin finished and antiqued.
The guard, butt, and ring are forged from wrought iron that was recovered from an 1850s era anchor chain. The wrought iron has a Damascene pattern and has been carved to perfection. A hammered finish continues the antiqued feel to the knife. Sambar stag antler forms the handle -- resulting in a very secure hand hold. Stag of this quality has become increasingly hard to come by.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
