Description: Theme knives have long been a favorite of mine -- and Cliff Parker's "Walrus" is among my favorites that I have encountered.
Cliff creates knives that push the limits of what is possible. The action is super smooth and blade perfectly centered. Here, he has created a very sleek profiled liner lock folder with a total thickness of .35". Due to the complexity of the mechanism, liner locks tend to be fairly thick. Cliff has spent considerable time over the past years testing and experimenting his designs to create a knife that is sturdy, but as low profile as possible.
The wharncliffe style blade is formed from a highly complex mosaic Damascus forged from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. The bolsters include pure nickel for even higher contrast. Cliff has created a central tile depicting a walrus in extreme detail. This is surrounded by tiny radial patterns, with Cliff's hallmark, 'CP' forged into the background. The bolsters meet perfectly to the premium fossil walrus ivory scales. The scales have been sculpted and textured toward the back. The screws have been heat colored. Fossil walrus ivory thumb stud. Fully fileworked titanium liners surround a Damascus backbar. The fit and finish is as good as it gets. The action is silky smooth. The blade is perfectly centered.
