Description: This upswept hunter/skinner by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives. It is no surprise, with its exceptional impact, that Raymond won Best Hand Forged Knife at the 2006 OKCA show with this knife.
The blade was forged to shape from 5160 carbon steel, recovered from a leaf spring. A differential heat treatment assures that the spine is soft and resilient, whereas the edge is hard and will maintain a keen edge.
The wrought iron for the fittings is forged from an 1800s era wagon wheel. The handle is sambar stag. Both the handle and blade have been antiqued, resulting in an heirloom quality to the knife. The butt is finished off with a wrought iron butt cap and loop.
Excellent fit and finish throughout. Accompanied by OKCA award plaque.
