Description: Created in the spring of 2001, this exceptional poignard is one of my favorite knives to have ever been part of BladeGallery.com. It remains one of the masterpieces of Ander's knifemaking career. It has been in a single collection since it was first created and has been meticulously cared for. It is in mint condition and is absolutely captivating.
The blade is three sides and is shown straight-on at the top left of the first photograph. The hollow grinds have been mirror polished, whereas the flat edges leading to the sharpened edges are satin finished. The carved sterling fittings are all precision fit. The fossil walrus ivory handle is made from a single piece of walrus ivory and swells gently at the palm for a very comfortable fit in the hand. It was shaped by hand, not turned on a lathe. Accompanied by hand made presentation box.
