Description: Elk Crown Bowie is among Raymond Richard's masterpieces to date.
The blade has a long, graceful clip that moves along the spine. This pulls the weight out of the blade and creates an aggressive point. An appleseed grind assures a very strong edge. The blade has been clay tempered resulting in a strong hamon (heat treatment line) -- this assures a keen, long lasting edge with a resilient spine.
The S-guard and butt cap are both forged from wrought iron recovered from an 1850s era anchor chain. The wrought iron has a nearly Damascene pattern and has been hammer finished and antiqued. The handle, is formed from elk stag crown that has been antiqued. The resulting handle is very comfortable and secure in the hand.
Excellent fit and finish throughout with a great balance and timeless soul.
