Description: This masterpiece by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives. The blade was forged to shape starting with a leaf spring recovered from a 1959 Nash Metropolitan automobile. Leaf springs provide an exceptional source for high end carbon spring steel that makes an exceptional blade. A differential heat treatment assures that the spine is soft and resilient, whereas the edge is hard and will maintain a keen edge. The wrought iron for the fittings is forged from an 1850s era wagon wheel. The guard, fittings, and blade have all been antiqued. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
