Description: The Natchez style Bowie is named after Natchez, Mississippi, where James Bowie is said to have had a bloody fight in 1827. A famous McKenney and Hall lithograph shows a Bowie of this style being carried by the Cherokee Chief Tah-Chee.
Bladesmith Peter Bromley specializes in historical recreations. His work is both creative and historically accurate. A differential heat treatment assures a hard edge that will stay sharp under heavy use with a softer spine that will be supportive and sturdy. Nickel silver bolsters are set by brass liners. The warm tones of the brass are reflected in the brass pins and bring out the warm tones of the straight grained desert ironwood. Excellent work throughout on a knife that is very true to tradition!
