Description: This exceptional folder was created by Carlo Cavedon. Carlo (b. 1969) hails from Italy. He started knifemaking and engraving in 2009 (at 40 years old). What started as a hobby became his full time job in 2016, just 7 years later. In 2018, he graduated as an engraver specializing in chisel techniques and precious materials at Alain Lovenberg’s Atelier in Belgium. In 2019, he became a Master in the Italian Knifemakers’ Guild. He currently participates in numerous exhibitions all over the world, including Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, the US, and Brazil. Each knife he creates is unique. His work is sole authorship and made entirely by hand without CNC tools. He also organizes linerlock folder construction courses for individual students and classes in Italy, Brazil, and the US.
The blade has silky-smooth action thanks to the ball bearing pivot. The blade can be deployed with one hand using the ambidextrous front flipper tab. This inobtrusive style of flipper tab will not get caught on things in your pocket.
The drop point blade is hand ground VG-10 stainless damascus san mai. A core steel of high performing VG-10 is surrounded by many layers of high contrast damascus. The blade is hardened to 60 Hrc to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The spine is hand fileworked providing a comfortable thumb purchase.
Handle scales are exhibition grade curly koa. Koa (Acacia koa) is a beautiful exotic wood that only grows on the Hawaiian Islands. With its tight curl, it is one of the most desirable woods in the world. The scales are heirloom fit to titanium damascus bolsters. Polished titanium liners surround a heat colored and fileworked zirconium backbar.
The knife is accompanied by a zipper pouch and a torx set, should you ever need to work on the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
