Description: South African knifemaker Hennie du Plessis creates an exceptional folder. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action.
The blade is stainless damascus san mai. A central bar of Takefu VG10 stainless steel is surrounded by alternating layers of stainless steel and nickel. At Hrc 61, this folder will have exceptional edge holding. The resulting damascus is high contrast and immediately captivating. The forged pool and eye pattern reveals Hennie's clean, well balanced grind. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
Handle scales are Arizona desert ironwood set on anodized titanium liners. Jimping on the thumb ramp provides a comfortable, secure grip. The gently rounded handle feels sturdy and fills your hand perfectly. Mokume gane bolsters combine brass and copper. They are dovetailed to the ironwood for a perfect fit. The raised backbar is Nebula damascus, hand forged by renowned South African bladesmith Bertie Rietveld. Bertie combined carbon steels to create the intricate pattern.
Excellent work throughout!
