Description: Mastersmith Mike Vagnino began his journey into knifemaking back in 1995 starting with a forging class from Karl Shroen. He continued his training under the watchful eye of Mastersmith Tim Hancock. He received his journeyman smith rating in 2001 and his Mastersmith rating in 2003. Vagnino strives to build beautiful knives that inspire the mind and are also high performance working knives built for daily carry.
The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth action thanks to the ball bearing system. The knife opens easily with the ambidextrous flipper tab.
The drop point blade is hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. Mike's maker mark is on the spine of the blade.
Titanium scales feature a proprietary finish that gives a unique appearance almost reminiscent of mammoth bark. The titanium scales sit on barrel spacers keeping the knife lightweight and easy to clean of pocket debris. An anodized titanium insert is inlaid into the show side scale. The 3D machined titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
