Description: This Piggback Hunter Set from Oregon knifemaker Gary Little will be the perfect companion while out in the field. Whether gutting and field dressing an animal to various tasks while walking the trails, this set has you covered. This set was kept in a private collection since it was made. It has been well cared for and is in near mint condition. Little's knives are individually hand forged and heat treated. He's made knives at Conklin Meadows Forge since 1979.
This set includes a skinning knife and a caping/utility knife. Both blades are forged carbon steel, ensuring excellent edge holding. This skinning knife is number 703, the caping knife 702. The skinning knife's blade measures just over 4 inches and the caping knife just under 3 inches. The blades are hollow ground to provide an easy to maintain edge.
The matching handles are Dymondwood, secured to the full tang using brass pins. The handles are hand contoured to provide a comfortable grip. The knives have excellent balance and will be a joy to use out in the field. Because the knives are made from carbon steel, we recommend camellia oil to oil the blade and tang.
To keep the knife close at hand, a sheath that fits both knives is included.
Nice work throughout!
