Description: This exceptional slip joint trapper was made by Texas knifemaker Burt Flanagan. Burt, who lives in Whitewright, TX makes traditional folders. He's been making knives since 2014 and began making slipjoints in 2016. Burt is a second generation knifemaker, following in the footsteps of his dad, Butch Flanagan. Over the years, slipjoints have become Burt's favorite. Being from south Texas, Burt has made knives under the watchful eye of some of the best in the business. In fact, he learned to make his first knife from Bill Ruple.
Flanagan hand ground the blade from River of Fire pattern damascus forged by renowned mastersmith Bill Burke. By using carbon steels, Burke ensures this razor sharp blade will have exceptional edge holding. The blade has smooth, consistent action with a firm half stop.
Amber stag handle scales are well fit between front and rear damascus bolsters. The wasps nest pattern damascus was hand forged by Chris Marks. The scales are set in place with hand domed pins.
Exceptional work throughout!
