Description: This clip point hunter was made by Georgia knifemaker John Poythress. John started making knives in 1983 and passed away in 2005. This knife has been in a private collection and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The clip point blade was hand ground from ATS-34 stainless steel and finished with an heirloom quality hand rubbed satin fninsh. The left side features John's Swainsboro, GA mark.
Arizona desert ironwood handle scales are set on a distal tapered full tang, ensuring perfect balance. The wood scales meet perfecctly with both the stainless steel guard and the tang. It is finished with stainless steel hidden bolt Corby rivets and a lined lanyard tube.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
