Description: This boot knife was handmade by Brooklyn knifemaker Jim Merola. It has been in a private collection and is in near-new condition. By all appearances, Jim could have made it yesterday.
The blade is formed from bold, deeply etched Turkish twist pattern damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. The 5-1/4 inch blade features a swedge, creating a detail-oriented tip.
Cocobolo scales are set on the full tang for strength and durability. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle scales meet seamlessly with mokume gane bolsters in an elegant curve. The forged bolsters combine brass and copper.
This knife is accompanied by a tactical belt sheath. The kydex sheath is wrapped and lined with leather.
Excellent work throughout.
