Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. Kikuo joined his father's knife grinding business at 15 years old. Over the years, Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Shinobazu is a slightly larger version of the Kiku Knives Shinobi, a knife that was inspired by ninja, the historic spies and mercenaries of Japan. This compact knife is perfect for when an unobtrusive tool rules the day. The blade is made from Kikuo’s personal favorite, OU-31 stain resistant tool steel and features his hamaguri-ba (convex) grind and a false edge along the top.
The handle scales are made from black canvas Micarta. The handle is hand contoured for increased grip. Expertly placed jimping on the spine provides extra traction for the thumb. A reliable companion to depend on in any stealth adventure!
Accompanied by hand fitted Kydex sheath with DOTS belt clip.
