Description: This elegant drop point hunter was handmade by renowned South African knifemaker Neels Roos.
The blade was hand ground from Sandvik 12c27 stainless steel and features a hand rubbed satin finish. At 58-59 Hrc, it is sure to have a keen, long lasting edge.
The handle is formed from African blackwood, set on the distal tapered full tang for strength and durability. Ensuring a perfect fit, the handle scales are dovetailed to stainless steel bolsters. Neels hand engraved the bolsters, representing images of Itzamna. Itzamna was, in Maya mythology, the name of an upper god and creator deity thought to reside in the sky. He was the god of fire who created the Earth. The Mayan believed he gave them the calendar and writing. He is believed to be the ruler of heaven as well as day and night. The Mayan-inspired engraving is beautifully done.
Itzamna Drop Point Hunter has exceptional fit and finish throughout. The balance is spectacular. You'll have a hard time putting it down.
