Description: D'Alton Holder is one of the great masters of collectable hunting knives. As you would expect, the fit and finish is exceptional. This hunter is a beautiful example of Holder's work! It was kept in a private collection since it was made and has never been used. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The mirror polished blade is made from ATS-34 stainless steel. ATS-34 maintains a great edge but is easy to sharp and has a high corrosion resistance. The blade is hollow ground for easy maintenance. D'holder's Peoria, AZ mark is featured on the right side of the blade. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort. The thumb ramp moves into a raised clip.
The handle is formed from spalted cottonwood. African blackwood surrounds a central amber spacer. Thin stainless steel and black fiber spacers help the materials adjust to humidity and temperature changes. The guard is hand engraved with a scroll pattern for an extra touch of class. A leather lanyard with a matching amber bead completes this knife.
To keep the knife close at hand, a tooled leather sheath with an antler concho is included.
Excellent work throughout!
