Description: Kaj Embretsen's work has a meticulous precision not found anywhere else. It has become increasingly rare in the US.
The boot ground blade is forged from ladder pattern damascus made from carbon steels. The complex pattern is immediately engaging, both from up close and from far away. The spine has been fileworked into a rope pattern and provides an excellent thumb purchase. Embretson's mark is shown on the left side of the blade.
The handle is made from dyed and stabilized masur birch, carved to swell in the center of the handle. Nickel silver front and rear bolsters are hand engraved in scroll patterns. The back of the rear bolster has been checkered to provide a secure thumb purchases when holding the knife in a reverse grip.
Excellent work throughout!
