Description: Don Bell is a Montana knifemaker that has become a force to be reckoned with. Having started making knives under the watchful eye of Rick Dunkerley, he learned quickly what to look for. This knife has a great fit and finish, with a thin, high performance blade that creates a balance that feels great in the hand. This knife has been in a private collection since it was made in 2003. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, Don could have made it yesterday.
The clip point blade was forged to shape from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. The blade was double quenched and features a differential heat treatment. This ensures strength and durability from the spine.
The desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) handle features mortised tang construction. The swirling figure nicely complements the steel. Black fiber spacers assist the natural handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The brass guard and brass pins bring out warm tones in the ironwood.
The light-weight design and thin profile make this an easy knife to have by your side. The knife is accompanied by a hand sewn leather sheath.
Excellent work throughout!
