Description: Anders Hedlund is among the best known of the Swedish makers. His work has a level of refinement that is truly exceptional. This knife has been in a private collection and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The damascus was forged by Robert Mattsson from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels. Three bars of explosion pattern damascus were combined into a particularly dramatic, high performing blade. It was hand ground by Hedlund.
The stacked handle is formed from stabilized spalted birch and mammoth ivory. The spalted birch is particularly dramatic. The handle is nicely contoured for a secure, comfortable grip.
This puukko is accompanied by a hand carved single seam traditional Swedish leather sheath. Hedlund is particularly well known for his highly detailed carved leather sheaths.
Absolutely exceptional!
