Description: This exquisite integral hunter was made by German knifemaker Richard Henn in the late 1980s. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances could have been made yesterday.
The blade, bolsters and tang are all integral -- made from one solid piece of 440C carbon steel. Hehn specialized in integral knives. Additionally, in conjunction with Fritz Schneider, he is considered the creator or stainless damascus. The blade is polished in the grind and satin finished on the flats.
Both the font and rear integral bolsters, as well as the tang, feature deep relief scroll engraving by Rolf Peters. The engraving is extremely well done and dramatic. The rear bolster features a thong hole.
Wenge handle scales are set on the distal tapered full tang. The handle is beautifully contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
Exceptional work throughout from one of the greats!
