Description: Neill Schutte is a spectacular knifemaker.
He is perhaps best known for his Loveless style knives, and has been making flippers for the last few years. His flippers have reached a true world class level with some of the best fit and finish as well as action to be found anywhere. He has won a stunning set of awards including Best Fighter at the 2014 and 2015 Blade Shows in Atlanta, Best Hunting Knife at the 2014 and 2016 Knifemakers Guild Show of Southern Africa, Best Boot Knife at the 2013 Knifemakers Guild Show of Southern Africa, and Best Fancy Fixed Blade, Best Knife of Show, and Best Working Fixed Blade at the 2013 Bloemfontein Knifemakers Show.
This tanto flipper features an RWL-34 PM stainless steel blade. It is meticulously hand satin finished with a long swedge. RWL 34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is made from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and resistance to cracking. The action is truly as good as a folder gets. It effortlessly flicks out with silky-smooth motion and falls closed once the lock is disengaged.
Carbon fiber scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The scales meet perfectly with the heat colored zirconium bolsters. Zirconium is a transitional metal that is primarily mined in South Africa and Australia. It is highly resistant to corrosion and scuffing. A black G-10 back spacer keeps the knife strong, yet extremely light. A 3D machined zirconium pocket clip is exceptionally elegant. It is mounted for tip-up, right-handed carry.
Absolutely tremendous!
