Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke creates knives that are as high performance as a knife can get. He is best known for his sheep horn hunting knives and chef's knives. Here, he has put his hands to an exquisitely elegant folder.
The blade is hand satin finished premium CPM154 stainless steel that has been heat treated to Rc 59-60 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! The blade is perfectly centered with smooth, consistent action and a firm half stop.
The scales are presentation grade mammoth ivory. Burnt cream, caramel, and green tones move through the the ancient tusk. These colors moved into the ivory from surrounding soils across thousands of years. Green tones are particularly rare and desireable. The scales are perfectly fit to the 416 front and rear bolsters and are secured with stainless pins.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
