Description: Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson is the protégé of Bill Moran, the father of the modern forged knife. His work is truly inspiring. Damascus knives like this one are quite rare these days. I've encountered even fewer daggers than damascus blades.
The dagger ground blade was forged to shape from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. The twist pattern damascus is bold and immediately grabs attention.
The curly maple handle and matching sheath are both inlaid with fine silver vines and leaves. The sheath as well as the handle have been scalloped and outlined in fine silver. As is typical of Jay's work, sections of the maple are dyed and textured for contrast.
Exceptional work throughout!
