Description: JD Barth specializes in making hunting knives. This has allowed him to refine his designs to an exceptional level. This exquisite hunter has been in a private collection. It has ben meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, Jim could have made it yesterday.
The distal tapered tang brings the weight to just behind the nickel silver guard for optimal balance. The blade is hollow ground for easy edge maintenance and is mirror polished. The blade has been heat treated by a true expect in ATS-34, D'Alton Holder.
Stabilized buckeye burl scales are set on the distal tapered full tang. Red spacer material is used between the scales and tang to assist the knife to adjust to changes in temperature and humidity when out in the field. A leather lanyard completes the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather pouch style sheath
Exceptional work throughout!
