Description: Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail.
The 4.8 inch upswept blade is made from satin finished N690 stainless steel. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort. Filework along the middle of the spine provides a secure thumb purchase.
The handle combines anodized titanium with maple burl, keeping the knife light yet strong. The titanium bolsters are dovetailed to the maple burl scales, ensuring a perfect fit. The scales are carved, providing both beauty and an augmented grip. This is a knife you won't want to put down. It is an ideal bird and trout knife.
This knife is accompanied by a vegetable tanned, hand tooled, leather pouch style sheath.
Excellent fit throughout!
