Description: This Forge Finish Hamon Utility shows Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn's work at its best. It shows an elegant refinement of design brought into a hard-working, field-use knife. The fit and finish, as well as skill at design shown in this knife are exceptional!
The 6-2/3 inch clip point blade is hand forged to shape from W2 carbon steel. A traditional clay zone heat treatment results in a clear hamon traveling across the blade. The undulating line (called a hamon) shows the transition between soft, supportive steel at the spine and hard cutting steel at the edge. The flats are forge finished.
The handle is made from presentation grade ironwood that has been sculpted for a secure, comfortable grip. The guard was forged from antique wrought iron, textured and antiqued. A nickel silver spacer separates the warm toned ironwood handle from the blade.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled leather sheath made from Wicket & Craig leather.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
