Description: Cliff Parker is well known for his exquisite knives that push the limits of what is possible. The action is super-smooth and blade perfectly centered. Here, he has created a very sleek profiled liner lock folder with a total thickness of .40". Due to the complexity of the mechanism, liner locks tend to be fairly thick. Cliff has spent considerable time over the years testing and experimenting his designs to create a knife that is sturdy, but as low profile as possible.
The blade is formed from damascus steel forged from four carbon steels: 15N20, 1084, 1095, and 203E. This combination both produces exceptional edge holding and creates a particularly dramatic pattern with subtle tonal variations.
The bolsters include pure nickel for even higher contrast. Cliff forged a central tile depicting a wooly mammoth in extreme detail. This is surrounded by tiny radial patterns and Cliff's hallmark, 'CP' forged into the background. The bolsters meet perfectly to the premium mammoth ivory scales. Mammoth ivory with deep blue/green tones like this is particularly rare and desirable. This color develops as minerals moved into the ancient ivory across millennia. The pivot screw is hand fileworked and screws throughout are heat colored. Mammoth ivory thumb stud. Anodized titanium liners are hand fileworked and surround the damascus backbar.
The fit and finish is as good as it gets.
