Description: Bill Burke, who was honored as a master smith June 2008, makes knives that are as high performance as they can get. This dramatic bowie is among his masterpieces to date.
The long, raised clip point blade is a swirling damascus combining 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels. It is very high contrast and immediately captivating. The heat treatment techniques used to create this Bowie are the same as his high performance hunters. The result is a keen edge that just won't quit.
The oval guard is formed from flying bat pattern mosaic damascus. A damascus ferrule is W's damascus. The handle is formed from ancient walrus ivory. The ivory combines deep green and caramel tones. These colors are particularly rare and incredibly beautiful. The ivory is lightly sculpted to provide a very secure finger rest.
The bowie is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath by Paul Long.
Absolutely exceptional!
