Description: Journeyman Smith Keith Fludder resides in New South Wales, Australia. He started making knives in 1989 is now a full time maker.
Keith's knives are works of art that excel in performance. This bowie knife really shows his skill at the forge.
The long, clip point, recurve blade was forged closely to shape. He began by forging two separate bars of steel and then combined the firecracker pattern edge with the pool and eye section damascus that forms the main part of the blade. The pattern is high contrast and immediately grabs attention.
The handle is formed from a solid piece of presentation grade sambar stag. Sambar stag of this quality is increasingly hard to come by. The natural texture of the stag forms a secure, comfortable grip. Blackened mild steel fittings surround the stag. The pommel has been carved to match the natural texture of the stag. Copper spacers bring out warm tones.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
