Description: Journeyman Smith Josh Fisher is clearly an up and coming maker to watch. As such, it is no surprise that he won Best Utility/Hunter at the 2016 Blade Show in Atlanta. At any show, winning such an award is an honor. Winning this award at Blade is truly momentous.
This Price Style California Bowie is a tremendous knife. The knives of 1890s San Francisco had a grace and elegance rarely found in other eras. The California Bowie is among the masterpieces of that era. Journeyman Smith Josh Fisher's re-creation of this knife is true to style and extremely engaging.
The blade was forged to shape from 1084 carbon steel, ensuring a small crystalline structure to the steel. The 6 inch blade was meticulously hand satin finished for an heirloom appearance. A long swedge travels along the spine.
The guard, ferrule and fileworked spacers are formed from nickel silver. Jet black ebony scales are set with domed nickel silver pins. The surface is meticulously hand checkered.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath. The surface is tooled to mirror the checkering on the handle.
Exceptional work throughout!
