Description: Master Smith Aaron Wilburn, a long time maker of knives for the outdoor enthusiast, has expanded his focus to include culinary knives - creating high-performing kitchen workhorses! This incredible mosaic damascus chef's knife is sure to be one of your favorite knives in your collection! It is a massive knife that has tremendous visual impact as well.
The large 11-1/2 inch blade has a perfect arc for chopping and slicing. Whether slicing onions or meats, this blade will be a spectacular goto knife in the kitchen!
The intricate blade combines two separate bars of steel. The top bar is snowflake mosaic damascus and shows off an incredible display of control. A firestorm damascus edge completes the blade. By utilizing 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels, Aaron ensures exceptional edge holding. A distal taper gives the knife perfect balance.
The handle is formed from an ancient oosic artifact with an ancient walrus ivory ferrule. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Inuit used oosic and ivory for tools ranging from sled runners to fire starters. This ancient oosic was originally used as an ice pick handle. The shape of the end of the tool haft was left exactly as found. The front section is carved and polished to perfectly meet with the ancient walrus ivory ferrule. The ferrule is nicely shaped to encourage a comfortable pinch grip.
This is sure to be one of the most unique and dramatic chef knives you've ever come across!
