Description: This exceptional damascus Bowie was created by Seattle bladesmith David Lisch. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. David became a mastersmith in the spring of 2015. This knife was made in the last couple years and shows David's work at its best. It has never been used to cut or been carried. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The clip point blade is a complex feather damascus that shows tremendous control. The 8 inch blade was forged to shape combining 15N20, 1080, and 1075 carbon steels. The complex pattern is immediately captivating from a distance and holds attention upon closer examination. David is a master at the forge and this steel -- both in terms of complexity and clarity -- shows his work at its best. The blade has a long false edge moving into David's JS mark just in front of the S-guard.
The S-guard, pommel, and ferrule are formed from antique wrought iron. A central column of stag provides a secure, comfortable grip. A textured silicon bronze spacer is set between the guard and ferrule. The pommel is forged into detailed Native American face.
The knife is accompanied by a presentation stand formed from forged wrought iron and wood. This is Lisch's work at its best!
