Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Bingenheimer makes an exceptional knife. Though this fighter would hold up well under outdoor use, it will feel at home in virtually any collection.
The blade is hand forged from W2 carbon steel. It is flat ground and is stout at .22 inch thick. A differential clay zone heat treatment results in a soft, supportive spine with a keen, long lasting edge. The dramatic heat treatment line, which shows the transition between soft and hard steel, is called a hamon.
The handle is made of presentation grade stabilized curly maple. It is polished to a luster, but the wood offers a fairly non-slip feel. The wood is shaped and contoured so it fits comfortably in the hand. It is unusual for curly maple to have such exceptional chatoyancy. The handle is completed with a singled domed pin.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
