Description: Master Smith Aaron Wilburn makes an incredible knife and this is an exceptional example of his work. The long clip point blade is perfectly balanced. The visual impact of the gently undulating hamon (heat treatment line) created by the traditional clay zone heat treatment is nice nicely offset by damascus and wrought iron fittings, along with the natural hippo tooth handle. It is, quite simply, exceptional!
The long blade, which measures in at 10-2/3 inches was forged to shape. The dramatic heat treatment line travels along the cutting edge and turns back to move along the sharpened clip. This line shows the transition between the soft, supportive spine, and the keen, long lasting cutting edge.
The S-guard is formed from antique wrought iron from a ship anchor chain. The wrought iron is textured and blued. A ferrule is formed from crused w's pattern damascus. The naturally shaped hippo tooth forms a comfortable and sure grip. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
The knife is accompanied by a leather sheath formed from premium veg-tanned leather by Wickett & Craig and American alligator hide. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
