Description: Mastersmith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned Mastersmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
The clip point blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. The blade was hand satin finished for an heirloom quality. The blade is distal tapered for a perfect balance.
A satin finished 416 stainless steel guard meets perfectly to the ironwood handle. Warm and dark tones within the intricate swirling grain pattern are immediately captivating. The wood has been sculpted for a particularly comfortable grip. Black fiber spacers assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The knife is accompanied by a pouch style leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
