Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. With the sheep horn handle and clear differential heat treatment lines, Bill's influence is clearly visible.
The blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. In an elegant twist, the spine is forge finished. The handle uses mortised tang construction and is formed from sheep horn. Sheep horn is a perfect choice for hunting and camp knives. When wet, it does not become slippery and it is amazingly durable. The handle is completed with stainless pins. The knife is accompanied by a pouch style leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
