Description: Ole Pedersen was born and raised in Denmark but now hails from Washington State and is a new knifemaker to watch. His work shows tremendous attention to detail and has clean, crisp lines. Makers such as Bruce Bump and Todd Begg have guided Ole in the art of knife making. Ole finds inspiration in our avian friends and this knife is named the Raptor II.
The hollow ground blade is formed from CPM154 stainless steel. A wharncliffe shape and distal taper to both blade and tang ensure optimal balance. The blade meets the handle with a deep choil for a secure grip.
Handle scales are stabilized Oregon maple burl and are secured by two stainless steel hidden bolt rivets. The grains and colors of the wood are definitely appealing. By creating a slight rounded dome to the handle, Ole created a knife that is very comfortable to hold. Transitions between materials are nearly seamless. This piece is accompanied by a very nice, custom leather sheath with a snakeskin inlay, made and tooled by Ole's wife, Julie.
