Description: Ole Pedersen was born and raised in Denmark but now hails from Washington State and is a new knifemaker to watch. His work shows tremendous attention to detail and has clean, crisp lines. Makers such as Bruce Bump and Todd Begg have guided Ole in the art of knife making. Ole finds inspiration in our avian friends and he named this knife the Sharkbird.
The hollow ground blade is formed from CPM154 stainless steel hardened to HRC 61. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. A long clip point and distal taper ensure optimal balance. The blade meets the handle with a deep choil for a secure grip. The bolsters are satin finished 416 stainless steel.
The handles are formed from stabilized Oregon maple burl and are secured by two steel hidden bolt rivets. By doming the handle, Ole created a knife that is very comfortable to hold. This piece is accompanied by a very nice, custom black leather sheath with snakeskin inlays, made and hand tooled by Ole's wife, Julie.
