Description: Knives by National Living Treasure Jerry Fisk are quite hard to obtain, considering his substantial wait list. The Sendero is a great all purpose hunter and is one of the most recognizable and copied hunting knife designs in existence. The name “Sendero” (path or trail, in Spanish) came about when Jerry was carrying the prototype as he and Mastersmith Harvey Dean were hunting hogs in the thick Texas underbrush, following trails from the animal.
This Sendero was made in 2008 and has been in a private collection. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The Wolves Tooth pattern damascus blade was forged to shape from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. It is differentially heat treated for a softer, supportive spine and keen, long lasting edge. The left ricasso is marked "Fisk / M.S."
The 416 stainless steel guard and pins are both engraved by Jerry. The engraving is line engraving of scroll and leaves with shadowing next to the engraving to make it stand out. As the guard drops down, he engraved traditional good luck Running Wheat pattern. The mortised sambar stag handle has warm amber tones and is extremely comfortable. Accompanied by pouch style leather sheath by Blue Wolf Sheaths. Excellent work throughout!
