Description: Bruce Bingenheimer was introduced to the forge by Mastersmith Ed Caffrey in 2006 and became a journeyman smith in 2010. After becoming well known as a forger, he began focusing on folders in 2012. Sadly, Bruce passed away on March 9, 2018. He will be dearly missed. This bowie has been in a single private collection and is in new condition. It has never been carried or used.
This knife is simply stunning. The blade is made from Bruce's own W's pattern damascus. The radialed pattern combines bold and fine patterns resulting in an exquisitely beautiful damascus pattern. It is one of those blades that keeps revealing more details upon closer examination.
The blade meets an S guard which is forged and sculpted from W's damascus and borders a filed fuller of matching material. The handle is carved from Ironwood burl, "proud fit" to the spacer. The warm toned ironwood has particularly nice figure. The handle is attractive as well as functional, with ergonomic sculpting. A solitary domed nickel silver pin completes the handle. This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched and tooled brown leather sheath lined with deer hide. Gorgeous work throughout!
