Description: Daniel Winkler became a fulltime knifemaker in 1988 and received accreditation as an American Bladesmith Society master bladesmith in 1993. He spent more than three decades studying and perfecting the nuances and handmade knives. Winkler Knives is a custom manufacturing operation that represents the evolution of Mastersmith Daniel Winkler’s knifemaking expertise coupled with the needs and field experience of Tier 1 Special Operations Teams from around the world.
This tool was crafted in the Winkler Knives shop in Northwestern North Carolina by skilled Blue Ridge Mountain artisans. It was created to provide unfailing performance and to last a lifetime. The Winkler Knives touch mark represents their unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality knives, axes, and breaching tools available.
Truly a multi-tasker, this knife is well suited to a wide range of chores and environments. A full skeletonized tang enhances overall balance without compromising strength. The handle shape and double guard provide security as well as various grip options. Wide bevels and a diamond cross section tip mean low cutting drag and unfailing performance. Sharpened serrations for sawing rope/fiber are located on the top of the blade, leaving the full length of the cutting edge intact.
The versatile Kydex lined leather sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments.
