Description: It is rare to find knives from Mastersmith Kevin Harvey on the US market these days and he has been greatly missed. His unique style and exceptional fit and finish show through his work.
This large clip point bowie was forged to shape using his own damascus. The complex Ws pattern damascus was laddered on a diagonal, for a unique, dramatic effect. The convex ground blade moves into an integral damascus bolster. While integral bolsters are relatively common in production knives, the technique is extremely difficult when done by hand, and this bowie definitely shows Kevin's skill.
A hand fileworked nickel silver spacer separates the blade from the presentation grade Arizona desert ironwood handle. The dark ironwood has a tremendous figure and is nicely carved for a secure, comfortable grip. The handle is completed with a lanyard loop. The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath with Concho. Excellent work throughout!
